[ Overview ]

Dickens Eye Clinic is a luxury eyewear practice based in the West Midlands — founded in 2006 and built into something genuinely singular: an independent optician that stocks Jacques Marie Mage, Chanel, Ahlem, and the world's most coveted eyewear alongside clinical eye care of the highest standard.

The practice isn't just selling glasses. It's offering a considered, personal experience — one where clients leave not just seeing better but proud of what they're wearing. Word-of-mouth referrals drive most of their new business. Clients return for over a decade. That kind of loyalty doesn't happen without a brand and an experience that consistently delivers on its promise.

The digital side hadn't kept pace with the physical experience. A growing product range across multiple luxury brands, a worldwide delivery offer, and an appointment booking flow were all operating without a consistent visual system or a Shopify architecture built to support the scale and quality of what Dickens Eye Clinic had become.

[ Project Goals ] Create a consistent, scalable, and conversion-focused digital presence for a luxury eyewear practice with a broad and growing product offer — without adding visual noise or losing the personal, considered quality that defines the Dickens Eye Clinic experience.

The website needed to communicate two things simultaneously, which are rarely easy to hold together: clinical credibility and luxury retail desirability.

The design system needed to handle a growing catalogue of frames across dozens of luxury brands — with consistent product templates, filterable collections, and a page structure that made the browsing experience feel curated rather than overwhelming.

And everything needed to convert — turning a visitor who discovers Dickens Eye Clinic through search into someone who books an appointment or adds a frame to their wishlist.

We worked as an end-to-end partner across identity, design system, and Shopify execution — aligning every detail around clarity and the premium standard of the practice.

  • Full UI component library — product cards, collection templates, brand pages, clinical service pages, and supporting elements
  • Reusable section library for the Shopify theme editor
  • Wireframes and conversion flow design
  • Information architecture — balancing the eyewear retail offer (collections, brands, frames) with the clinical services offer (appointments, eye care)
